MONTREAL

Montreal is the second-largest city in Canada and the largest city in the province of Quebec.
The city proper covers most of the of the Island of Montreal at the confluence of the Saint Lawrence and Ottawa Rivers. The city is named after the most prominent geographical feature on the island, a three-head hill called Mount Royal, topped at 232 m above sea level.
Founded by French explorers more than 350 years ago, it is among the oldest cities on the continent. Nicknamed la ville aux cent clochers ("the city of a hundred belltowers"), Montreal is renowned for its churches.
The official language of Montreal is French as defined by the city's charter. Montreal is the second-largest primarily French-speaking city in the world, after Paris, and the only one in North America. The Montreal inhabitants majority (68.8%) is native French speaker.
Montreal has developed a unique and distinguished cultural face. Another distinctive characteristic of Montreal culture life is to be found in the animation of its downtown, particularly during summer, prompted by cultural and social events, particularly festivals.

VANUATU

Vanuatu, officially the Republic of Vanuatu, is an island nation located in the South Pacific Ocean. The archipelago, which is of volcanic origin, is some 1,750 kilometres (1,090 mi) east of northern Australia, 500 kilometres (310 mi) north-east of New Caledonia, west of Fiji, and south of the Solomon Islands, near New Guinea.

Vanuatu is member of the Organisation Internationale de la Francophonie since 1979. French is one of its official languages, together with English and Bichlamar.
